How do we know that the climate is changing?
What do you see happening in this environment? What do you see happening in this picture? What do you notice about living things and non-living things in this picture? Take a look at the EPA website to learn how the living and non-living things in this picture give scientists clues that the climate is changing. Click here for 'Clues about Climate Change'. |
Using our discoveries: What can we do to prepare for the impacts of climate change? We looked at how flooding from storms and rising sea levels can affect our the physical structure and health of our communities as well as ecosystems. And we explored and tested strategies for preparing coastal towns for flooding. We tested some strategies to change the landscape of coastal towns and methods for slowing the flow of water and filtering sediments from flooded areas. Take a look at some topics from the EPA and how we can prepare for these possible impacts on our communities. What are some other ways we can help our communities when there is severe weather and rising seas? If you were mayor of a coastal city, what would you do?
